Team Sponsors - Anarky Paintball

We are happy to announce the BC team is now sponsored by our training site Anarky Paintball. The closer ties we now have between the team and Anarky will allow us to train more, learn from their experience and spread the word on what a great site they have and what all round top blokes the guys at Anarky are.

IPL4 - The JT Cup

The fourth event in the Irish Paintball League, The JT Cup took place on Saturday August 29th at Barrage Paintball in Co Meath. There were 7 teams playing this event (Escarmouche, Dublin Reapers, Team Karnage, BC, Wildfire, Team Fear, Irish Rage and Marvel). This time round the draw placed us against Irish Rage and again our Anarky training partners Team Karnage in the prelims.

For this event in addition to our squad of 5, we had two guest players from across the water. Dave Philips from England and Nick Honing from Wales playing for us.

The first match with Irish Rage was a very quick match with BC winning 4:0 in just over 4 minutes and losing only 4 bodies over the 4 points. The second match against Karnage was a lot more intense. Karnage took the first 2 points and looked like they might run away with the match. We dug in and won the next two points to level the score at 2:2. The last two points could have gone either way but in the end Karnage won the match 4:2.

The two results were good enough for the team to get into the 3rd place play off, which as it turned out, placed us against Irish Rage again. Irish Rage due to unforseen circumstances had to play their playoff match with only 4 players. They did manage to grab the 1st point but BC went on fairly quickly win the match 4:1 and take 3rd spot overall.

Also congratulations to Team Karnage who went on to win the event beating Escarmouche 3:2 in the final and to also win the league. Many many thanks to Dave and Nick for playing with us at the event.

IPL3 - The Dye Cup

The third event in the Irish Paintball League, The Dye Cup took place on Saturday June 20rd at Barrage Paintball in Co Meath. There were 7 teams playing this event (Dublin Reapers, Team Karnage, BC, Wildfire, Team Fear, irish Rage and DIT). The team was placed against Dublin Reapers and Team Karnage in the prelims.

Both matches were very tough against two of the best Irish paintball teams. The first match against Reapers was a tight affair with the teams sharing the first 4 points before Reapers went onto to beat us 4:2.

The game against Karnage started with the advantage going to us taking a 2:0 lead with nearly 5 mins off the clock. Unfortunately this only made Karnage push harder and they came back to win the match 4:2.

The results were unfortunately not good enough to make it into the 3rd place play off with the team finishing in 5th place.

Congratulations to Team Karnage who went on to win their first IPL event beating Wildfire in the final.

IPL2 - The Eclipse Cup

The second event in the Irish Paintball League, The Eclipse Cup took place on Saturday May 23rd at Barrage Paintball in Co Meath. There were 5 teams playing this event (Dublin Reapers, Team Karnage, BC, Wildfire, Marvel and Team Fear). The team was placed against Wildfire and Team Fear in the prelims.

The game against Wildfire was nearly a copy of the game played at the IPL1 event. It went to a sudden death playoff with Wildfire winning the game 4:3. The second prelim against Team Fear, BC won 4:0.

This was enough to place BC in the 3rd place play off against.... Wildfire.... again. The playoff also went to sudden death with Wildfire being successful again winning 3:2.

The team finished in 4th place behind Dublin Reapers, Team Karnage and Wildfire.

Some photos from the day and videos of our two prelim games are in the gallery.

Escarmouche Irish Open

The inaugural Irish Open was held at the Escarmouche Paintball park in Randalstown in Country Antrim on the 9th May.

In keeping with it being held in Ireland, the weather was very wet (just like Malaga two weeks before). 5 teams (Team Karnage, Wildfire, BC, Team Marvel and Team Energy) took part in the event and despite the weather, all of the teams enjoyed the event.

The team finished in 3rd place behind Team Karnage and Wildfire.

Some photos from the day are in the gallery. Thanks goes to Beatz (Robert) who filled in for us in his first competitive speedball competition.

Millennium Series 2009 - Malaga

The Bad Company team traveled to Malaga in the last weekend of April to play the Fuengirola Beach Cup; part of the 5 event Millennium Series.

For a destination that you'd expect hot sunny weather, it turned out to be one of the worst weekends of weather Malaga has experienced in 6 years. There were very high winds and torrential rain... just like home then. The first day of play had to be abandoned due to the wind and all 10 games squeezed into the Sunday in the rain.

Despite the team only winning 2 games, it was a good introduction into the european paintball circuit and encourages us to train harder so we will perform better at any future Millennium events.

Irish Paintball League (IPL) 2009 - The Draxxus Cup

Bad Company traveled on a lovely sunny (impressive for Irish paintball) day to Barrage Paintball in Co Meath on 11th April 2009 to play the first event in the Irish Paintball League. The team played two preliminary games against Team Marvel and Wildfire. BC beat Team Marvel 4:0 and also won a very closely fought game against Wildfire 4:3. BC was placed 3rd after the prelims and had to play a second match against Wildfire in the 3rd place playoff. We won the playoff with a score of 4:1 to take overall 3rd place on the day.

We would like to thank Team Marvel and Wildfire for some fun and challenging games and congratulations to Escarmouche and Team Karnage for finishing 1st and 2nd. In addition, much kudos must go to the organisers, refs and camera crew for putting together a great day.

This is also the first event where we got to sport our new team jerseys (which only arrived on the day). Some photos from the day are in the gallery.
